Halloween....Spooky

Hello my pretties.....

Long time no speak eh? Life has not been the same without you. Living sans blog has been sans fun.

However, I am back for good now. Do  I hear groans? Cheers? Songs of praise?....

I am waiting. So while you guys muster up something lovely to welcome be back, I shall share one of my more successful dressing up adventures as the 31st October nears.

Let me set the scene: at School, where half the girls (and some of the boys) are dresses up as faries for the 3rd year running, and I come in as what?

A fairy? No.
A disney princess? No. That would be WEIRD.
A witch? Its not halloween. DUH.

Okay can't think of anymore. Want to give the guessing one last try?

Wait for it. Wait for it.......................
A CORPSE BRIDE (cue thriller music, you know da da daaahhhhhhhhh). You may well say, but you said it wasn't halloween. And I shall shame on you. What does a dead bride, with black flowers and tons of scary make-up have to do with all hallows eve? Nothing, that's what.

So I wore a vintage dress, it was my mothers, some pearls, DMs, big hair and lots of black make-up. It was flipping marvellous. Photography courtesy of Anna Ehrlich (she is in Greece at the momento, so let's all say HI!!!!)

"Describe yourself without using a cliché....I am what is says on the tin"

Hey y'all. I hope all is well in whatever climate you are now spending your time, due to the start for most people of the most hallowed and revered of breaks; THE SUMMER HOLIDAYS. Not that I have even broken up from school yet but I shall share in your joy and bathe in your merriness. Thank god for metaphors, because if everything I said was taken literally, especially my last comment let's just say I may not be allowed to be publishing this shit on the internet anymore. Woop to taking everything in the most metaphorical and abstract sense.

Frankly, I don't know where that came from the metaphor thing. Perhaps it was some form of flashback from the Apprentice finals and the masterful grip Jim had of the English Language. He took puns to a whole new level (get it?). Wow, I am kind of going over board (again?) with the metaphor thing.

Idea! Let's play the 'how many metaphors can I put in a few lines game'? Sometimes, I even suprise myself.

Today I have cooked up a mix (have I really cooked up a mix?) of some things that are inspiring me right now. Things that I want, like, love, enjoy or just frankly need. It has no commonalities except that I like them. Is that not enough? But if I must be pretentious, I shall explain (bullshit actually) that the commonality of all these images, gifs and what not is their ultimate message that society is corrupt and the world will end. See it? Does everything not just come down to that or oil. Or was that in a film.

HARRY POTTER

Feeling the Harry Potter vibes? Well I am sorry but this guy literally beats you all. Here's the link York Maze if anyone actually wants to go. But I am quite happy to sit back and enjoy the eccentricity of the British people. Long live J.K. Long live the Brits.

SUNDAY

A little gift for a Sunday, just because I am so generous and they are so cute. Definitely a reason to wear faux.

TOPSHOP A/W 2011

Due to the ongoing winter we English have been encountering the last few months, I began to look at the clothes that will be hitting our stores in the coming months. Sorry for the downer, reminding you guys that winter is not far away but I am sorry one can only be feeling the hippie vibes for so long and stand so many flowing dresses and flower headbands. I say it's enough. I mean it is fricking pourring...... YOU ARE NOT AT GLASTO ANYMORE!

RECOMPOSING.....breathe in and out, in and out....OKAY........

So being as helpful and giving as I am, I decided I would offer up a consolation. However, do not begin to think this consolation is somewhat akin to a plastic medal you received when you were a kid for taking part in the sprinting race (oh....the memories). It is more like a shiny, rather luxurious PRIZE! God, knows for what but nevertheless we shall continue.

My favourite look is the Bravia one, because it channels my ideal aesthetic - the rich eccentric tramp that has lost her gold covered marbles (Get it?). Think Rich bitch Miss Havisham meats Balenciaga meets Tramp. My other favourite is Glam Underground but it is some what of a tried and tested formula which I shall not harp on about. The two other collections were Prim and Polished and New Mod. All collections have strong pieces but to be honest with y'all I think if TOPSHOP can create a collection somewhat reminiscent of Balenciaga pre-fall 2011, I shall be raving on and on about it until the sun goes down, feverishly applauding their most gallant efforts.
